Four 2.5-gigabit ports deliver headroom that still holds tomorrow. If the line drops, optional cellular takes over via LTE or 5G as a second WAN, so your branch never stands still. As a VPN gateway, the 1040 connects the site securely to your headquarters. For us, an outage is not an emergency but a planned case.

The calm entry into demonstrable network security
NIS2 brings new obligations from 2026, also for smaller companies and their service providers. The AIMSTRONG-1040 is the manageable start: a controllable appliance as a solid basis for firewall, VPN and network segmentation. The legal assessment is handled together with our legal partner, so that technology becomes real security.
Who is the 1040 made for?
It is the entry-level model of the family (Class S). Strongest where things need to be compact and per site.
Small companies and single sites
Office, practice or law firm: a manageable firewall as a solid basis, entirely without a server room.
Companies with many branches
One 1040 per branch, centrally connected to headquarters via VPN, with cellular backup for the outage. The heart of this model.
As a compact outpost of larger networks
Edge security at sites without a rack: where space is tight but protection remains a must.
